[SEZON NAGRÓD 2016/2017] International Press Academy,
organizacja skupiająca zagranicznych dziennikarzy pracujących w USA, ogłosiła
nominacje do swoich dorocznych Satelitów. To kolejne liczące się wyróżnienie
podsumowujące 2016 rok w amerykańskich kinach. Satelity wręczone zostaną po raz
21.
IPA zrezygnowała w tym roku z dzielenia swoich nominacji na
dramaty oraz komedie/musicale, jak to ma w zwyczaju Hollywoodzkie
Stowarzyszenie Prasy Zagranicznej, które przyznaje Złote Globy. Jednocześnie
IPA zwiększyła liczby nominacji w poszczególnych kategoriach. I tak na liście
najlepszych filmów roku 2016 znalazły się: „La La Land”, „Moonlight”, „Manchester
by the Sea”, „Lion” („Lion: Droga do domu”), „Jackie”, „Hacksaw Ridge” („Przełęcz
ocalonych”), „Loving”, „Hell or High Water” („Aż do piekła”), „Nocturnal
Animals” („Zwierzęta nocy”), „Captain Fantastic”, „Hidden Figures” i „Fence”.
Wśród 10 najlepszych filmów zagranicznych znalazły się m.in.:
„Toni Erdmann”, „Julieta”, „Klient”, „Ma’ Rosa”, „Służąca” i „Elle”. W gronie
najlepszych animacji są m.in. „Zwierzogród”, „Kubo i dwie struny”, „Vaiana”, „Gdzie
jest Dory”, „Nazywam się Cukinia”, „Księga dżungli”, „Tolle” i „The Red Turtle”.
IPA doceniło m.in. Mela Gibsona za reżyserię „Przełęczy ocalonych”, Denzela
Washingtona za reżyserię „Fence”, za scenariusz twórców „Lobstera” i Olivera
Stone’a za „Snowdena”, za efekty specjalne autorów m.in. „The BFG”, „Doktora
Strange’a” i „Księgi dżungli”. Są też liczne nominacje telewizyjne.
