Najlepsze horrory, SF i fantasy. Saturny rozdane

Po raz 43 swoje nagrody przyznała Akademia Science Fiction, Fantasy i Horroru. Wśród tegorocznych nominowanych był polski horror zatytułowany „Demon”, ale ostatecznie nie zdobył on nagrody w swojej kategorii. Za to wśród laureatów znalazło się wiele znaczących hollywoodzkich produkcji, jak m.in. „Doktor Strange”, „Księga dżungli”, czy „Łotr 1”.

"Łotr 1" zdobył trzy nagrody, w tym dla najlepszego SF oraz za reżyserię i efekty specjalne. Za kreacje aktorskie doceniono m.in. Ryana Reynoldsa i Tildę Swinton, ale zauważono też występ nowego Spider-Mana. "Nowy początek" doceniono za scenariusz, kilka nagród otrzymał "La La Land" oraz "The BFG". Najlepsza animacja to "Gdzie jest Dory", najlepszy film zagraniczny to "Służąca", a wśród horrorów "Demon" przegrał z hollywoodzkim "Nie oddychaj" i był to wybór bardzo przeciętny. W kategoriach telewizyjnych wśród laureatów znalazł się "Westworld", "The Walking Dead" oraz "Outlander".
