[SEZON NAGRÓD 2019/2020] Produkcja Disneya zatytułowana „Kraina
lodu 2” i produkcja studia Laika znana u nas jako „Praziomek” otrzymały największą
liczbę nominacji do Annie Awards, najważniejszych wyróżnień przyznawanych
produkcjom animowanym. Wśród nominowanych krótkich metraży znalazł się film
Tomasza Popakula zatytułowany „Acid Rain”. To wielki sukces polskiego kina!
„Kraina lodu 2” i „Praziomek”
otrzymały po osiem nominacji do 47. edycji Annie Awards. O tytuł najlepszej
pełnometrażowej animacji rywalizowały będą też: „Jak wytresować smoka 3”, „Klaus”
i „Toy Story 4”. DreamWorks Animation otrzymał 18 nominacji, Disney zdobył tych
nominacji 16, ale Netflix ma ich aż 39. Streamingowy gigant ma na liście m.in. „I
Lost My Body” (od kilku dni dostępny), który zdobył sześć nominacji. Jest też
znakomity serial “Love, Death & Robots” z 5 nominacjami i „Klaus” z 7
nominacjami. Nagrody Annie to dobry prognostyk przed nominacjami do Oscarów.
Tym bardziej cieszy wyróżnienie dla krótkometrażowej animacji z Polski.
„Acid Rain” to produkcja studia
Animoon, krótki film w reżyserii Tomasza Popakula. Akcja „Acid Rain” dzieje się
gdzieś w Europie Wschodniej. Młoda ucieka z domu, jak najdalej od szarej
miejscowości. Początkowa ekscytacja podróżą autostopem opada, gdy ląduje na
obrzeżach miasta w środku nocy. Na moście spostrzega postać balansującą
niebezpiecznie na barierce. Tak poznaje Chudego trochę niezrównoważonego
dziwaka. Chudy mieszka w kamperze, którym jeździ załatwiając niekoniecznie
legalne sprawunki. Młoda postanawia zabrać się z Chudym. Ich wspólna droga
prowadzi w coraz dziwniejsze rejony, a między nimi szybko zawiązuje się
nienazwana więź. „Acid Rain” był doceniany na kilkudziesięciu międzynarodowych
festiwalach, a dzięki udziałowi w Animafest w Zagrzebiu otrzymał kwalifikację
