Critics Choice docenia filmy dokumentalne

[SEZON NAGRÓD 2021/2022] „Ascension” i „Summer of Soul” otrzymały po sześć nominacji od stowarzyszenia Critics Choice, które doceniło najlepsze dokumenty wyświetlane w USA i tworzone głównie za oceanem.

Nagrody te honorują najlepsze osiągnięcia w dziedzinie dokumentu, które ukazały się w kinach, telewizji i na platformach cyfrowych. Najwięcej nominacji zdobyły filmy twórców debiutujących w reżyserii dokumentów. „Ascension” to spojrzenie na „chiński sen” w różnych klasach społecznych. „Summer of Soul” to zapis ze słynnego wydarzenia muzycznego, a za reżyserię filmu odpowiada ceniony muzyk Ahmir „Questlove' Thompson. Filmy „Becoming Cousteau” i „The Rescue” otrzymały po pięć nominacji. W zeszłym roku „Dick Johnson Is Dead” zdobył główną nagrodę CCA dla najlepszego filmu dokumentalnego, a także nagrodę dla najlepszego reżysera dla Kirsten Johnson.

Laureatów tegorocznych nagród w 14 kategoriach poznamy 14 listopada. Wiadomo już, że prestiżową Pennebaker Award otrzyma ceniony dokumentalista RJ Cutler („Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry”).

Kilak z tych filmów było już pokazywanych w Polsce, między innymi na Docs Against Gravity. Kilka innych pokazanych będzie podczas zbliżającego się American Film Festival.
