Cannes Classic 2022

Jak co roku bardzo ciekawa jest w Cannes sekcja poświęcona klasyce filmowej. Zasadniczo program tej części festiwalu podzielony jest na propozycje odrestaurowanej klasyki oraz filmy poświęcony historii kina. W obu znalazło się wiele rarytasów.

Jednym z wydarzeniem będzie premiera odrestaurowanej wersji filmu „La Maman et la putain” (The Mother and the Whore) w reżyserii Jeana Eustache’a. To laureat Złotej Palmy w 1973 roku, obraz opisywany dziś jako kontrowersyjny. W sekcji poświęconej filmom odrestaurowanym znalazły się także słynne dzieła podpisane przez klasyków tej rangi, co: Satyajit Ray, Vittorio de Sica, Orson Welles, Martin Scorsese, Vera Chytilová. Z okazji 70 lat od premiery, swój pokaz będzie miała też odrestaurowana w 4K „Deszczowa piosenka”.

Druga część Cannes Classic poświęcona jest filmom dokumentalnym dedykowanym historii kina. Wśród filmów dokumentalnych znajduje się dokument Ethana Hawke'a o Paulu Newman i Joanne Woodward, „The Last Movie Stars”. W wyprodukowanym przez Martina Scorsese występują między innymi Karen Allen, George Clooney, Oscar Isaac, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Zoe Kazan, Laura Linney i Sam Rockwell. W Cannes pokazane zostaną dwa z sześciu odcinków serialu, w produkcji którego brały też udział HBO Max i CNN Films.

Filmów doczekają się m.in. Jean Campion, Romy Schneider, Gerard Philipe, Jean-Claude Carrier. Oto pełny program Cannes Classic 2022 (wersja angielska):
