Koło Londyńskich Krytyków Filmowych ogłosiło nominacje do swoich nagród. Najwięcej nominacji zdobyły „Duchy Inisherin”. Wśród najlepszych filmów zagranicznych jest nasze „Io” w reżyserii Jerzego Skolimowskiego. To kolejne znaczące wyróżnienie dla polskiego filmu. Na liście jest też nominacja dla „Silent Twins”.
Martin McDonagh ma duże poparcie krytyków z Londynu. W 2018 roku nagrody zdobyły jego „Trzy billboardy za Ebbing, Missouri”. Dziś aż dziewięć nominacji zdobyły „Duchy Inisherin”, które wysuwają się na czoło faworytów tych wyróżnień. Tuż za tym filmem „Aftersun” z ośmioma nominacjami.
Obie produkcje są na liście najlepszych filmów roku, podobnie jak „Tar”, „Wszystko wszędzie naraz”, które zdobyły po sześć nominacji. W gronie najlepszych filmów roku wg krytyków z Londynu jest też dokumentalny „All the Beauty and the Bloodshed”, laureat Złotego Lwa z tegorocznego festiwalu w Wenecji. O tytuł ten zabiegać będzie też koreański film „Podejrzana”, francuski „Saint Omer” oraz jakby z drugiego końca filmowego świata „Fabelmanowie” Spielberga, „Living” i „Top Gun: Maverick”.
„Io” znalazło się w gronie najlepszych filmów obcojęzycznych, a jego konkurenci to „Podejrzana”, „Saint Omer” oraz „The Quiet Girl” i „RRR”. Ciekawie prezentuje się też lista najlepszych pełnometrażowych dokumentów, na której jest wspominany film z Wenecji, ale też „Moonage Daydream” czy „Wulkan miłości”.
Na liście nominacji odnaleźć można też wyróżnienie dla „Silent Twins” w reżyserii Agnieszki Smoczyńskiej, które przypadło w udziale Letitii Wright za rolę w tym filmie oraz w „Aisha”, „Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
