Variety dotarło do szerokiej listy tytułów, które będą zabiegały o Oscara za efekty wizualne. Z tej grupy wybrane zostaną filmy, które trafią na skróconą listę kandydatów i przejdą do kolejnej rywalizacji. Właśnie rozpoczęło się głosowanie. Znane są też tytuły piosenek, które będą zabiegały o Oscara.

Na liście filmów z najlepszymi efektami wizualnymi są wszystkie tegoroczne produkcje Marvela, jest „Batman” od DC, „Avatar: Istota wody” oraz rzecz jasna „Top Gun: Maverick”.
