Poznaliśmy pierwszych laureatów nagród Emmy, najważniejszych wyróżnień przyznawanych dla produkcji serialowych i telewizyjnych. Po pierwszej z dwóch nocy z nagrodami głównie w nagrodach technicznych, prowadzi serial „The Last of Us”, który zdobył 8 wyróżnień. Sporo nagród zdobyły też seriale „The White Lotus”, „Wednesday”, „The Bear” i „Beef”.
„The Last of Us” zdobył dwie nagrody za występy gościnne, ale też za efekty wizualne, montaż obrazu i montaż dźwięku. Judith Light zwyciężyła jako gościnna aktorka w komedii „Poker Face”, a ulubieniec „Teda Lasso” Sam Richardson odebrał statuetkę dla gościnnego aktora w komedii. Za najlepszy film telewizyjny uznano „Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”, a na gali wręczenia nagród pojawił się sam prawdziwy Yankovic. „Żyj tak, jak chcesz żyć. Bądź tak dziwny, jak chcesz. Uwierz mi, nigdy nie odnajdziesz prawdziwego szczęścia, dopóki naprawdę nie zaakceptujesz tego, kim jesteś” – powiedział Yankovic.
