BIFA Awards 2025. „Pillion” najlepszy

Znani są już laureaci British Independent Film Awards (BIFA). Pełnometrażowy debiut scenarzysty i reżysera Harry'ego Lightona „Pillion” zdobył cztery nagrody, w tym dla najlepszego niezależnego filmu brytyjskiego, debiutującego scenarzysty, kostiumy i charakteryzację.

W filmie „Pillion”, który opowiada o dominacji i podporządkowaniu w relacji miłosnej, Alexander Skarsgård gra motocyklistę w skórzanym stroju, a  Harry Melling  – londyńczyka, który nawiązuje z nim romans. Cztery nagrody BIFA zdobył też film „Warfare”, ale głównie w kategoriach technicznych. Trzy nagrody otrzymał film dokumentalny „A Want in Her”, w którym porusza kwestie zdrowia psychicznego i uzależnień w rodzinie. Doceniono go za najlepszy pełnometrażowy dokument, za debiut reżyserski w filmie dokumentalnym oraz nagrodą Raindance Maverick.

Akinola Davies Jr. zdobył nagrodę dla najlepszego reżysera za swój debiutancki film fabularny „ My Father's Shadow”, którego akcja rozgrywa się w Lagos w Nigerii. Ten film zdobył najwięcej nominacji do BIFA, ale obronił tylko jedną. Tymczasem Tom Basden i Tim Key zdobyli nagrody BIFA za najlepszą pierwszoplanową rolę męską, a także za najlepszy scenariusz za swój debiutancki film „The Ballad of Wallis Island”. Norweska „Wartość sentymentalna” otrzymał nagrodę dla najlepszego filmu międzynarodowego.
