„Boże ciało” i „Obywatel Jones” w Palm Springs


W poniedziałek poznamy skrócone listy kandydatów do Oscara w kilku kategoriach. Jedną z nich będzie Film Międzynarodowy, gdzie polską kinematografię reprezentuje „Boże ciało”. Jakie szanse ma nasz kandydat?

Na listach nominacji i wydarzeń podsumowujących mijający rok nie ma „Bożego ciała” Jana Komasy, nie jest on aż tak gorąco przyjmowany, jak by tego oczekiwano i jak donoszą niektóre polskie media. Co nie przekreśla jego szans, ale powinno nieco ostudzić emocje związane z oczekiwaniami na wyróżnienie Amerykańskiej Akademii. Ważnym miejscem prezentacji „Bożego ciała” będzie festiwal w Palm Springs, który corocznie prezentuje znaczących międzynarodowych oscarowych kandydatów. Wydarzenie to odbędzie się w styczniu 2020 i na skróconą listę kandydatów do Oscara ma tylko pośredni wpływ.

Międzynarodowy Festiwal Filmowy w Palm Springs odbędzie się w dniach 3-12 stycznia 2020 roku. W jego programie znalazło się aż 51 filmów, które zabiegają o nominację do Oscara w kategorii Film Międzynarodowy. Jest to więc zdecydowana większość zgłoszonych filmów. Ten festiwal prezentuje przede wszystkim filmy zagraniczne, a jury złożone z krytyków przyzna tam nagrodę dla najlepszego filmu obcojęzycznego, dla najlepszego aktora, aktorki i za najlepszy scenariusz.

W sumie w Palm Springs pokazanych zostanie 188 filmów i jest to zdecydowanie bardzo ciekawy program. Podzielono go na kilka części. W sekcji Modern Masters zaprezentowany zostanie „Obywatel Jones” Agnieszki Holland. Swoją światową premierę na festiwalu będzie miał też polsko-niemiecko-brytyjski film "Adventures of a Mathematician" (Geniusze), który opowiada o matematyku Stanisławie Ulmanie (w tej roli Philippe Tlokinski).
