Nominacje do Actor Awards

Gildia Aktorów Ekranowych zmieniała nazwę swoich nagród. Dziś poznaliśmy nominacje do Actor Awards. Na ich czele znajduje się „Jedna bitwa po drugiej” z 7 nominacjami. W kategoriach telewizyjnych wygrał serial „Studio” z 5 nominacjami.

Od wprowadzenia kategorii „obsada” w 1995 roku, tylko cztery filmy – „Braveheart” (1995), „Kształt wody” (2017), „Green Book” (2018) i „Nomadland” (2020) – zdobyły Oscara w kategorii najlepszy film, nie zdobywając nominacji do nagrody SAG za najlepszy film. Odkąd Akademia rozszerzyła pole nominacji do nagrody dla najlepszego filmu w 2009 roku, 61 z 80 filmów nominowanych do nagrody SAG za najlepszy film – co daje 76% skuteczność – otrzymało również nominacje do Oscara, co podkreśla wartość tej kategorii jako wiarygodnego wskaźnika Oscarów. Od 2009 roku nominacje SAG za role aktorskie pokrywały się z nominacjami do Oscarów średnio w 16 z 20 kategoriach, co daje 80% zgodność.

W najważniejszej kategorii, doceniającej całą obsadę filmu, nominacje zdobyły: „Frankenstein”, „Hamnet”, „Marty Supreme”, „One Battle After Another” i „Sinners”, co potwierdza ich Oscarowe aspiracje.

Drugą nominację z rzędu otrzymał Timothee Chalamet, który po zeszłorocznej wygranej filmem „Kompletnie nieznany”, tym razem zabiega o nagrodę z filmem „Marty Supreme”. Jego tegoroczna konkurencja to m.in. Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke za „Blue Moon” i dość niespodziewanie Michael B. Jordan za „Sinners” i Jesse Plemons za „Bugonia”. Brak tutaj Wagnera Moury uznano za niespodziankę, ale na Oscarach będzie zapewne inaczej. Generalnie tegoroczne nominacje do Actor Awards pominęły kreacje aktorów w produkcjach nieanglojęzycznych i to zapewne będzie je różniło od nominacji do Oscarów.

Silna jest też kategoria z pierwszoplanowymi kreacjami wśród aktorek, a nominacje zdobyły m.in. Jessie Buckley za „Hamneta”, Rose Byrne za „If I Had Legs I'd Kick You” oraz Emma Stone za „Bugonię”.
