[SEZON NAGRÓD 2021/2022] Film „Zola” zdobył siedem nominacji do 37. edycji Independent Spirit Awards. O tytuł najlepszego niezależnego filmu 2021 roku zmierzą się jeszcze m.in. “C’mon C’mon” i “The Lost Daughter”. W kategorii Najlepszy Film nominacje otrzymały także “A Chiara” i “The Novice”.
Independent Spirit Awards doceniają filmy, które powstają poza głównym nurtem Hollywood. Do rywalizacji o te wyróżnienia mogą być zgłaszane tylko filmy, których budżet nie przekroczył 22,5 mln dolarów. Studio A24 zdobyło w tym roku najwięcej nominacji i ma ich 13. Po 9 nominacji otrzymały filmy, za którymi stoją Neon i Netflix. Independent Spirit Awards przyznawane są też w kategoriach telewizyjnych. Wśród tegorocznych nominacji, na szczególną uwagę zasługuje kategoria poświęcona reżyserii, gdzie na pięć nominacji, aż cztery zdobyły kobiety. Na liście nominacji wśród najlepszych filmów nie ma wysoko cenionego „CODA”, nominacji nie zdobyli też Joaquin Pheonix i Olivia Colman. Laureatów nagród poznamy 6 marca 2022 roku.
