Oscary.
W dwóch najważniejszych
kategoriach doceniono scenariusze do filmów “Eighth Grade” i “Can You Ever
Forgive Me?”.
„Roma”,
„Green Book”, „Vice”, „BlacKkKlansman” czy „Narodziny gwiazdy”. “Eighth Grade”
zdobył nagrodę Gildii, a nie otrzymał nominacji do Oscara. Taka sytuacja miała
miejsce po raz pierwszy od 2003 roku. W kategoriach telewizyjnych scenarzyści
postawili na m.in. „Zawód: Amerykanin”, „Barry’ego” i “The Marvelous Mrs.
Maisel”. Nagrody scenarzystów przyznano po raz 71.
