Netflix zdominował nominacje do najważniejszych w Hollywood nagród dla produkcji animowanych. Nie jest to zaskoczeniem, bo firma ta ma pięknego „Pinokia” firmowanego przez Guillermo del Toro. Film jest zdecydowanym faworytem Oscara dla pełnometrażowej animacji.
Netflix zdobył 50 nominacji do nagród Annie, także w kategoriach przeznaczonych dla małego ekranu. Jest w tym gronie „Pinokio”, który zdobył w tym sezonie już blisko 40 nagród, ze Złotym Globem na czele. Do nagród Annie „Pinokio” zdobył dziewięć nominacji. W tej najważniejszej kategorii, przeznaczonej dla pełnometrażowych animacji, o tytuł najlepszego filmu rywalizować będą także „To niewypanda”, „Kot w butach: ostatnie życzenie” i dwie kolejne produkcje Netflixa “The Sea Beast” i “Wendell & Wild”. Tak nie musi wyglądać Oscarowa lista nominowanych, bowiem kandydatów należy też szukać w nominacjach dla produkcji niezależnych, gdzie znajduje się m.in. „Marcel Muszelka”.
