Znane są już skrócone listy kandydatów do IDA Documentary Awards. To jedne z najważniejszych wyróżnień podsumowujących filmowy rok wśród produkcji dokumentalnych. W gronie kandydatów są dwie polskie produkcje/koprodukcje – „Apolonia, Apolonia” oraz „Skąd dokąd”.
W dużej mierze, to właśnie wokół tych filmów będą toczyły się zabiegi o nagrody dla najlepszych filmów dokumentalnych 2023 roku, a finałem tych zmagań będzie Oscar dla najlepszego pełnometrażowego filmu dokumentalnego. Tym bardziej cieszy obecność na liście z najlepszymi pełnometrażowymi dokumentami, dwóch filmów zrealizowanych w naszej kinematografii lub przy jej udziale. Są to „Apolonia, Apolonia” w reżyserii Lei Glob (THE informuje, że film reprezentuje tylko Danię, ale to nie jest prawda) oraz „Skąd dokąd”. Oba filmy mają za sobą piękną festiwalową historię i liczne sukcesy i zapewne nie raz jeszcze o nich usłyszymy. Oba filmy wygrały Millennium Docs Against Gravity, „Apolonia, Apolonia” zdobyła jeszcze m.in. Grand Prix na IDFA, a „Skąd dokąd” pokazywano w Cannes i Toronto. Oba filmy zabiegają o Europejskie Nagrody Filmowe.
IDA Documentary Awards docenia filmy z przestrzeni międzynarodowej i stąd tak wiele na liście kandydatów produkcji reprezentujących różne kinematografie.
Nominacje poznamy 21 listopada, a nagrody zostaną wręczone 11 grudnia w Los Angeles. IDA Documentary Awards wręczone zostaną po raz 39.
