[SEZON NAGRÓD 2020/2021] „Nomadland” to główny laureat nagród Gotham, jednego z najważniejszych wyróżnień w amerykańskim kinie niezależnym. Przyznano je po raz 30. Film Chloe Zhao zdobył nagrodę dla najlepszej fabuły 2020 roku, swoją nagrodę przyznała mu też publiczność.
Oprócz 11 kategorii regulaminowych, podczas 30. Gotham Awards przyznano pięć nagród w hołdzie, doceniając w ten sposób: zmarłego Chadwicka Bosemana, Violę Davis, Steve’a McQueena, Ryana Murphy’ego oraz po raz pierwszy wyróżnienie za obsadę, które powędrowało do ekipy „The Trial of the Chicago 7” Aarona Sorkina.
Było kilka niespodzianek podczas rozdania nagród Gotham. Frances McDormand nie wygrała kategorii dedykowanej najlepszym aktorkom i musiał uznać wyższość Nicole Beharie występującej w “Miss Juneteenth”. Riz Ahmed za rolę w filmie “Sound of Metal” zdobył tytuł najlepszego aktora.
