Amerykańska Akademia Filmowa, zgodnie z zapowiedziami, bardzo się zmienia. Właśnie podjęto decyzję o zaproszeniu rekordowej liczby 683 nowych osób do tej organizacji. To może radykalnie zmienić sytuację w Akademii, która corocznie krytykowana jest za swoje wybory podczas nominacji.
Już przeglądając listę aktorów, widać wyraźnie, że znaczącą ich liczbę stanowią osoby o innym niż biały kolorze skóry. To także zapowiadana zmiana w Akademii, która oskarżana była o siedlisko "białych, starych mężczyzn". A tymczasem do Akademii dołączyć mogą m.in. Damon i Marlon Wayansowie, co też jest znakiem swoich czasów. Nie brakuje wśród nowych kandydatów wielu twórców zagranicznych o międzynarodowej renomie, aktorów znanych z klasyków kina. Podobnie jest w innych gałęziach zawodowych, które powiększyły grono swoich oscarowych kolegów i koleżanek. Szczególnie wyraźnie widać to wśród reżyserów, którzy wsparci zostali przez silną grupę twórców zagranicznych (m.in. Anne Fontaine, Ari Folman, Xavier Dolan, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Maren Ade, Mia Hansen-Love, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Abbas Kiarostami, Ken Loach!!!, Cristian Mungiu, Laszlo Nemes, Park Chan-wook). Dodajmy do tego obecność w Akademii sióstr Wachowski.
Niestety nie dostrzegłem w gronie tak szerokim polskich twórców.
