Rozdano Emmy, najważniejsze wyróżnienia w świecie telewizji. „Gra o tron”
pobiła rekord najczęściej nagradzanego serialu w historii tych nagród. W sumie od początku emisji produkcja
ta otrzymał już 38 nagród i o jedną wyścignął komediowy serial „Frasier”. Tylko
w tym roku „Gra o tron” otrzymała 12 nagród Emmy. HBO zwyciężyło w dwóch
głównych kategoriach 68. edycji Emmy.
Produkcja HBO otrzymała w tym roku 24 nominacje, a obroniła
połowę z nich, pokonując w bezpośredniej rywalizacji „House of Cards”, „Downton
Abbey” i „Homeland”. Świetnie w tym roku, podczas finałowego wieczoru, poradził sobie także komediowy serial
HBO zatytułowany „Figurantka”, który uznany został najlepszą komediową
produkcją telewizyjną, a grająca w nim Julia Louis-Dreyfus otrzymała nagrodę
dla najlepszej aktorki.
Wśród tegorocznych laureatów znaleźli się jeszcze m.in.:
Susanne Bier za reżyserię „The Night Manager”, gospodarz najlepszego show John
Olivier, twórcy udanego „The People v O.J Simpson” z pięcioma nagrodami Emmy w
kategoriach poświęconych miniserialom (doceniono aktorów - Courtney B. Vance, Sarah
Paulson, Sterling K. Brown), Maggie Smith na pożegnanie „Downton Abbey”, twórcy specjalnego filmu z
udziałem Sherlocka Holmesa.

W sumie podczas finałowego wieczoru po sześć nagród Emmy otrzymały stacje FX i HBO, a trzy
