Copperfield" otrzymał aż 11 nominacji do British Indie Film Awards (BIFA).
To jedne z pierwszych i najważniejszych wyróżnień podsumowujących filmowy rok
2019. Sporo z tych nominacji zostanie później potwierdzonych wyróżnieniami
innych grup zawodowych.
Nowa wersja książki Charlesa Dickensa wzbudziła powszechny
szacunek, ale też autorem filmu "The Personal History of David
Copperfield" jest Armando Iannucci, twórca m.in. „Śmierci Stalina”. W
gronie najlepszych niezależnych brytyjskich filmów znalazły się też “Bait” („Przynęta”
- najlepszy film festiwalu Nowe Horyzonty), “For Sama”, “The Souvenir” i “Wild
Rose”.
Wśród nominowanych aktorek znalazła się Renee Zellweger,
którą doceniono za rolę w „Judy”. Oscarowych tropów jest więcej, bo na przykład
wśród filmów zagranicznych nominacje zdobyły m.in. „Parasite” i „Historia
małżeństwa”. Dostrzeżono też dokument „Diego”. Laureatów BIFA 2019 poznamy 1
grudnia.
