Gildia Reżyserów nominuje za filmy kinowe

Gildia Reżyserów Amerykańskich ogłosiła nominacje do swoich nagród. O tytuł najlepszego reżysera fabularnego filmu kinowego rywalizowali będą  Damien Chazelle (“La La Land”), Garth Davis (“Lion”), Barry Jenkins (“Moonlight”), Kenneth Lonergan (“Manchester by the Sea”) i Denis Villeneuve (“Arrival”).

Chazelle, Davis, Jenkins, Lonergan i Villeneuve otrzymali swoje nominacje po raz pierwszy. Znane są też nominacje dla debiutantów i jest tutaj bardzo ciekawie, bowiem doceniono m.in. twórców produkcji komercyjnych. Wśród nich docenieni zostali: Tim Miller za “Deadpool”, Kelly Fremon Craig za “Edge of Seventeen”, Nate Parker za “The Birth of a Nation” i Dan Trachtenberg for “10 Cloverfield Lane”. Laureatów nagród poznamy 4 lutego. Gildia Reżyserów Amerykańskich liczy 16 tysięcy członków. Od 1948 tylko siedem razy laureat nagrody Gildii nie zdobył potem Oscara za reżyserię. Tylko raz, w 2013 roku, laureat nagrody Gildii nie otrzymał potem nawet nominacji do Oscara – chodziło o Bena Afflecka za „Operację Argo”.

Tymczasem z tegorocznych nominacji Gildii wynika kilka ciekawych obserwacji. Nominacji bowiem nie otrzymali wysoko notowani: David Mackenzie (“Hell or High Water”), Martin Scorsese (“Silence”), Mel Gibson (“Hacksaw Ridge”) i Denzel Washington (“Fences”).
